Danica Constantino, Our Leader and Companion

By Romeo Mataac, Jr. Founding President, SAKAMAR

Peace! peace! he is not dead, he doth not sleep,
He hath awakened from the dream of life;
’T is we who, lost in stormy visions, keep
With phantoms an unprofitable strife,
And in mad trance strike with our spirit’s knife
Invulnerable nothings. We decay
Like corpses in a charnel; fear and grief
Convulse us and consume us day by day,
And cold hopes swarm like worms within our living clay.
-Percy Bysshe Shelley

Nothing can describe the shock and mercy of the members of Samahang Kabataang Marindqueno (SAKAMAR) upon we heard the loss of our beloved member and companion, Danica Constantino.

Danica was born on June 21, 1991 to Danilo and Leticia Constantino of Brgy. Cagpo, Torrijos, Marinduque. She finished her secondary level in Our Mother of Perpetual Succor Academy (OMPSA) with flying colors. She was an active student of her alma mater during her high school days. In fact, she was elected as president of the Student Body Organization (SBO), the highest student organization in high school.

To further continue her studies and to acquire more knowledge, she enrolled in Rizal Technological University (RTU) in 2007 with a degree in electronics and communication engineering. During her stays in RTU, she engaged herself in various student activities particular in Samahang Kabataang Marindquueno, a youth organization of Marinduquenos established as a venue whereas the members from different towns of Marinduque could have the opportunity to interact with their fellow kababayan and build dreams together in the spirit of harmony and friendship. Danica is currently the Public Relation Officer of SAKAMAR.

Being the PRO of the guild, she was actively participated in different activities spearheaded by the organization. Her insights, thoughts and undertakings to the organizations mission and objectives are remarkable and appreciated.

“Danica, our dear friend, we know that you are too young to leave this world but God saw you getting tired and a cure was not be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

Paalam Danica, paalam. We will truly miss you!

OBAF: Biglang Awa Triduum

Hello dear fellow Marinduquenos!
Good day to you! I am Leticia “Lita” Pedrosa Hidalgo, wife of Atty. Augusto “Ton” Hidalgo, and recently appointed successor of my sister-in-law Albine Hidalgo Padua, President for 25 years of the Our Lady of Biglang Awa Foundation.

To honor our Patroness, Our Lady of Biglang Awa, the Foundation holds a Triduum (3-day prayers & Holy Mass) every year in the month of November. The Triduum will start on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 and will end on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 and will be held at St. Paul’s Seminary Chapel, 7708 St. Paul Road, San Antonio Village Makati City. Rev. Fr. Nilo Lardizabal will say Mass on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Rev. Fr. Rene Sapungan will be the main celebrant on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Kindly note the schedule and groups in charge:
Friday, Nov 6 5:00 p.m. - Sta. Cruz, Torrijos Buenavista
Saturday, Nov 7 4:00 p.m. - Boac, Mogpog, Gasan
Sunday, Nov 8 4:00 p.m. - Marinducare Foundation, Youth & Young Professionals
The main aim and purpose of our Foundation is to spread devotion to Our Lady of Biglang Awa. For this reason we have committed ourselves to numerous welfare and charity endeavors, such as the yearly instruction and preparation for First Communion of public school students, the improvement of churches in Marinduque, and miscellaneous expenses for preschool education in barangay schools.
The annual subsidy for poor seminarians in the Diocese of Boac is one of the projects we have been raising funds for in the past 25 years. This is particularly relevant on this year dedicated to St John Marie Vianney when the universal church is asked to pray very especially for the holiness of its priests.
With the help of the new Board I hope to be able to approximate Mrs. Padua’s accomplishments. May we invite you to assist us in our aim to propagate devotion to Our Lady through these projects?
May our Blessed Mother of Biglang Awa bless you for your anticipated generosity. Thank you very much.

Sincerely yours,
LETICIA PEDROSA-HIDALGO
President
Hello this is Tita Lita Hidalgo, I chanced on your website and would like to invite you all to join us, especially on Sunday, which is for the youth and young professionals. Pls come and meet other young marinduquenos based in Manila and invite them to join your so-worthy causes!!! St. Paul road is perpendicular to Bagtikan St which crosses Pasong Tamo. If you are familiar with Libreria San Pablo, you will enter the gate right beside it which is a winding road that ends at St. Paul's Seminary chapel . Hope to see you there on Sunday!
