Danica Constantino, Our Leader and Companion

By Romeo Mataac, Jr. Founding President, SAKAMAR

Peace! peace! he is not dead, he doth not sleep,
He hath awakened from the dream of life;
’T is we who, lost in stormy visions, keep
With phantoms an unprofitable strife,
And in mad trance strike with our spirit’s knife
Invulnerable nothings. We decay
Like corpses in a charnel; fear and grief
Convulse us and consume us day by day,
And cold hopes swarm like worms within our living clay.
-Percy Bysshe Shelley

Nothing can describe the shock and mercy of the members of Samahang Kabataang Marindqueno (SAKAMAR) upon we heard the loss of our beloved member and companion, Danica Constantino.

Danica was born on June 21, 1991 to Danilo and Leticia Constantino of Brgy. Cagpo, Torrijos, Marinduque. She finished her secondary level in Our Mother of Perpetual Succor Academy (OMPSA) with flying colors. She was an active student of her alma mater during her high school days. In fact, she was elected as president of the Student Body Organization (SBO), the highest student organization in high school.

To further continue her studies and to acquire more knowledge, she enrolled in Rizal Technological University (RTU) in 2007 with a degree in electronics and communication engineering. During her stays in RTU, she engaged herself in various student activities particular in Samahang Kabataang Marindquueno, a youth organization of Marinduquenos established as a venue whereas the members from different towns of Marinduque could have the opportunity to interact with their fellow kababayan and build dreams together in the spirit of harmony and friendship. Danica is currently the Public Relation Officer of SAKAMAR.

Being the PRO of the guild, she was actively participated in different activities spearheaded by the organization. Her insights, thoughts and undertakings to the organizations mission and objectives are remarkable and appreciated.

“Danica, our dear friend, we know that you are too young to leave this world but God saw you getting tired and a cure was not be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

Paalam Danica, paalam. We will truly miss you!
